A: Actually, it’s both! Contemporary Fighting Arts is a reality based self-defense system specifically created for real-world combat applications. On the other hand, it’s also a unique martial art style.
Q: How long do students train with you?
A: We have students who train with us for just a few short weeks and we have others who have been with us for years. It just depends on what you want to learn and how skilled you want to become in your training.
Q: Do you accept students from other martial arts styles and systems?
A: All the time! We encourage it!
Q: Do I have to be in great shape to learn Contemporary Fighting Arts?
A: Absolutely not. All you need is an open mind and a willingness to learn.
Q: Do I have to sign a contract to train with you?
A: Nope. We don’t believe it contracts! Pay as you go.

A: Nope. Just wear clothes that are comfortable and allow you to move freely.

A: Yes! We wouldn’t be selling these self-defense items if people would not directly benefit from them. Its a fact that books and dvds can significantly improve your street survival skills. Each and every year there are thousands of people who have purchased our self defense books and instructional self defense dvds and continue to train in other combat systems. Time and time again, we receive letters and e-mail from people telling us how our self defense dvds have helped them improve in their current self defense skills. Q: Who purchases your CFA self defense products?
A: Both men and women purchase our unique line of self defense products. We ship our products all over the world! We have many long standing relationships with many of our online customers. We sell our unique products to many self defense schools, martial art instructors, self defense practitioners, RBSD students, fitness enthusiasts, mixed martial arts (mma) practitioners, police officers, military personnel, as well as law enforcement and military agencies.
Q: What is the significance behind some of the fantasy images on your books and DVD covers?
A: The unique images on some of our self defense book covers were chosen for several reasons. First, all written works need some sort of cover. Artwork is always more interesting than a plain cover and these colorful images are simply how Sammy Franco chooses to express himself. Some of these images serve as a “personality extension”.
Second, these war-like images make a very powerful statement. They are brutal, intense and deadly and are therefore very appropriate for his system of combat.
Third, these images are unique and it visually distinguishes Contemporary Fighting Arts (CFA) from every other martial art and self defense system.
Fourth, many of these distinctive images symbolize the “warrior archetype” that is hidden in every psyche. Some of these so called “fantasy images” are also chosen to convey the urgency of survival.
To quote Mr. Franco, “It’s about combat symbolism! Its about Warriorship. Its’ about self-transformation. It’s about self-empowerment. It’s for people who are serious about reclaiming their ancient warrior archetype. These images represent a ‘combative ideal.’ A necessary persona of the psyche.“
